Ho Chi Minh city: 53/54 COVID-19 patients cured

(CPV) - In Ho Chi Minh city, 53 of 54 patients have been announced to be cured from the disease. The remaining patient, a seriously ill British pilot, has reported progressive signs, the Ministry of Health said on April 23rd.

According to the ministry, a COVID-19 patient in Vietnam was announced to be treated successfully and discharged from Ho Chi Minh city’s Cu Chi field hospital on April 23rd.

The case brought the number of patients cured in Vietnam to 224, accounting for 84%.

As of the morning of April 23rd, statistics from the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control showed that Vietnam had not reported any new cases for 7 successive days, while the number of cases stood at 268.

Of the reported cases, 160 came from abroad and 108 were infected in communities.

At present, over 68,000 people having had contact with reported cases or having immigrated from the world’s infected areas are being isolated for health quarantine./.
