Ho Chi Minh City detects 11 illegal Chinese immigrants

The police and health centre of Binh Thanh district on July 29th detected 11 Chinese nationals illegally entering Vietnam at an apartment in the district’s ward 22.

The information was released by Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Disease Prevention and Control.

The Chinese nationals were then sent to a local quarantine site for COVID-19 prevention. An investigation has been launched.

According to Mr. Dung, Ho Chi Minh City not only faces the risk of COVID-19 transmission from people returning from pandemic-hit regions like Da Nang, but it also faces the risk of illegal entry from trails.

In addition to the above 11 cases, Ho Chi Minh City has detected 38 cases of illegal entry from May./.
