Ho Chi Minh city provides attractive events during Tet

Residents and tourists in Ho Chi Minh city will have different choices for destinations during the upcoming lunar New Year festival as the city has prepared a wide range of events, including Nguyen Hue flower street, book festivals, flower fairs, fireworks and sticky rice cake festivals.

As planned, the program of artistic lighting decorations will be organized throughout February across the downtown, being considered earliest activity in welcoming the lunar New Year.

Nguyen Hue flower street, an attractive destination that cannot be omitted during Tet, will be held from February 13th – 19th.

Meanwhile, the city’s book festivals will be organized on Ngo Duc Ke, Dong Khoi and Mac Thi Buoi Streets in district 1.

The flower fair, which will be organized from February 10-21st, is expected to attract a large number of residents and tourists.

Similar flower fairs will also be held in 23/9, Gia Dinh and Le Van Tam Parks from February 8th-15th.

Fireworks shows will be held across six locations

Another program not to be missed is the fireworks displays on New Year's Eve, held at 6 locations in the districts of 2, 11, Cu Chi, Can Gio, Binh Chanh and Hoc Mon.

The city People’s Committee will also organize a photo exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the General Tet Offensive in the spring of 1968 and the 88th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3rd); and a sticky rice cake festival besides wreath ceremonies to commemorate Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang, and art performances during the New Year Eve./.
