Many specialties, processed food, medicinal herbs, handicrafts, souvenirs, and wooden products will be displayed at 100 booths of enterprises of Laos and Vietnam.

Aiming to offer opportunities for Lao enterprises to connect trade with Vietnam, the organizers arranged 40 booths of Vietnam Exporters Association - a club comprising Ho Chi Minh city-based enterprises in the export industry, and other associations.

On the sidelines, there will be an investment promotion conference in Savan Seno Special Economic Zone in Savanakhet province and a conference to seek solutions to boost trade exchange between Ho Chi Minh city and Laos.

Somxay Sanam Oune, Lao Consul General to Ho Chi Minh city, said the event will contribute to enhancing trade relations between the two sides, offering opportunities for products of Lao traders to penetrate the Vietnamese market. Investment of Vietnamese enterprises in Laos over the past time showed significant changes.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam  has so far had 278 projects in the country with a total capital of about USD5 billion, with a majority of them focusing on the fields of energy, services, infrastructure, mining, agriculture and forestry.
