No suspected cases of Covid-19 reported in southern hub

All of the 29 suspected cases of the acute respiratory disease caused by 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19, short for “coronavirus disease 2019) in Ho Chi Minh city, who had been isolated at hospitals, were confirmed negative for the virus on February 11th.

Representatives from the city center for disease inspection, said that among the suspected cases, a 5-year-old child had contact with the 73-year-old overseas Vietnamese in the US who had confirmed positive for the virus. The child tested negative for the virus and is now in stable health condition.

According to the Ministry of Health, suspected cases are those who have fever or contract respiratory symptoms within 14 days after having contact with Covid-19-infected patients or coming from infected areas.

The city Health Department also recognized 39 cases who had close contact with the patients but did not have any symptoms. They are being monitored at home for 14 days.

The city continues to inspect and manage immigrants, and check over quarantine isolated areas at communities./.
