RoK’s National Day marked in Ho Chi Minh city

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Thanh Liem, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People's Committee, affirmed that Vietnam - RoK cooperation has developed strongly in all fields over the past 25 years since the two country established the diplomatic relations.

Particularly, the city has established friendly and cooperative relations with five localities Busan, Deagu, Seoul and Incheon, and Gangwon province. As of October 2017, RoK was the fourth largest investor in the southern hub with more than 1,400 projects and a total investment of nearly USD4.6 billion. The city’s exports to RoK reached USD1.3 billion and its imports from RoK reached USD2.5 billion.

Mr. Liem pledged to continue to create conditions for Korean businesses and people living and working in the city to further strengthen the strategic cooperation and partnership between Vietnam and RoK.

Mr. Park Noh Wan, Consul General of RoK to Ho Chi Minh city, emphasized that the two countries have the close relationship thanks to cultural exchange and economic cooperation, thus creating sustainable development.

The recent 23-day Ho Chi Minh city-Gyeongju World Cultural Festival 2017 also marked a new height in the multi-faceted cooperation between the two sides./.
