To Thi Bich Chau, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh city Fatherland Front, asked unions to promote their role in disseminating information about the acute respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus (nCoV) at markets, trade centers, dormitories, schools and public places.

She made the request during an online meeting held on February 4th with 24 districts on the disease prevention.
On the same day, the city Department of Tourism worked with the city Department of Health to organize a meeting to work out preventive measures. During the meeting, Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Head of the city Department of Tourism, urged travel agencies to cancel tours to infected provinces and cities, and not to pick up tourists coming from infected areas to Vietnam as well as to Ho Chi Minh city.
The department is making a survey and proposing to set up a monitoring center near Tan Son Nhat International Airport as a temporary isolated area for suspected cases.
Meanwhile, Do Van Dung from the city Department of Health, confirmed that the department had set up 26 response teams to prevent a widespread outbreak in communities. At the same time, the city disease control center and hospitals have prepared to add enough equipment to cope with different situations of the disease development. Training courses will be provided for the city disease prevention systems and related industries.
According to the city disease prevention steering committee, the city is building 2 field hospitals with 500 sick-beds which are expected to be completed by February 15th. Additionally, the city will disseminate 5 million flyers about the prevention measures, and send 20 doctors to Saigon Railway Station to provide prevention and consultancy measures. Body temperature devices have also been increased at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
As of 15h30 on February 4th, the world recorded 20,631 cases of infection and 427 deaths, including 425 fatalities in mainland China, one in the Philippines, and one in Hong Kong (China).
Vietnam has so far confirmed 10 infection cases./.
