Spring Voluntary Campaign 2019 to launch in Ho Chi Minh city

The 11th Spring Voluntary Campaign 2019 will be organized by the Vietnam Student’s Association in Ho Chi Minh city in January, 2019.

The event is scheduled to attract over 30,000 local students and youth union members.

The Spring Voluntary Campaign 2019 will focus on activities such as visiting and taking care of Vietnamese Hero Mothers, social policy beneficiaries, orphans, people with disabilities, children in extreme need, and elderly people at rest-homes, and on assisting officers and soldiers on duty in border areas, at sea and on islands so that they may celebrate a happy and warm Lunar New Year.

Besides, volunteers will organize activities for children at social welfare centers and encourage youngsters to have a civilized way of life.

The campaign will be carried out in 24 districts in Ho Chi Minh city, localities in border areas, islands, at hospitals, nursing houses, specialized schools, social facilities, dormitories, workers' accommodations, railway and bus stations, markets, and Tho Chu island (Kien Giang province). 

Runing until February 2nd, the event is among activities to welcome the success of the 10th National Congress of Vietnam Student’s Association, term 2018 - 2023.

Earlier, the 10th Congress opened on December 9th, featuring the participation of nearly 700 delegates representing over 2.4 million students both in the country and abroad.

During the three-day event, dialogues were held between student delegates and representatives of the government and ministries on a variety of issues such as political education for students, connecting students with enterprises and healthy entertainment for students.

The event created conditions for the training of students with firm political stance, good ethics and lifestyle, and physical strength, as well as encouraging them to actively study and promote their spirit of creativity, pioneering, volunteering and integration, to contribute to the cause of national construction.
