At the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee highlighted the sound development of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership in many fields, especially in fields of economics, trade, culture and education.
He highly appreciated the strengths in energy, mechanical engineering, IT, biotechnology and medical technology of Saxony-Anhalt state and added that Ho Chi Minh city is interested in these fields and fields of railway, infrastructure, transport and seaport, and science-technology as well.
According to him, Ho Chi Minh city established the cooperation with Germany’s cities of Leipzig and Frankfurt, which is a foundation for expanding cooperation between the city with other German localities in the coming time.
Mr. Liem stressed that the municipal authorities would create all favourable conditions for German businesses, including those from Saxony-Anhalt state, to pour their investment in the city.
For his part, Mr. Willingmann highly valued the cooperation between Germany and Vietnam as well as cooperation between localities of the two countries and highlighted that businesses of Saxony-Anhalt state are interested in investment cooperation in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city.
The minister agreed to enhance cooperation and share experience with the city in education-training, expressing his belief that this will be a good chance for enterprises and educational establishments of both sides to expand partnership, especially in vocational and high-quality human resources training.
Germany is one of the large foreign direct investors in Ho Chi Minh city with 162 projects worth 286 million USD./.
