The Ho Chi Minh city Department of Tourism has introduced 8 tours to stimulate the travel demand with a sharp discount up to 50% in celebration of the city’s 320th founding anniversary this year.

More and more foreigners are interested in traveling to Ho Chi Minh city

The campaign was launched on November 29th as part of a promotion program of the southern hub from now through 2019.

It attracted the participation of 60 travel companies in various tourism types such as restaurants, hotels, shopping, and cuisine.

The launch of the eight tours aims to give tourists an insight into the formation and development of HCM city and they are divided into three groups: tours of the city’s inner areas, tours of Can Gio coastal district, and trips to Cu Chi district. Each tour costs between VND399,000 (about USD17.07) and VND2.1 million (nearly USD90).

Famed places in the inner areas include the HCM city Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Binh Tay Market, and the War Remnants Museum. While Can Gio district is famous for the Vam Sat eco-tourism site and Rung Sac Military Base, Cu Chi district is most known for its historical relic site of Cu Chi Tunnels.

In Jan-October 2018, the southern city greeted more than 6.1 million tourist arrivals, a 20% rise over a year earlier./.
