Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee elected with highest number of votes

The Hanoi Election Committee on May 26th organized a meeting to announce the result of the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016 - 2021 period.

According to a report of the Hanoi Election Committee about the election results, Hanoi elected enough 30 deputies to the 14th National Assembly, 105 deputies to the municipal People’s Council, 1,183 out of 1,185 deputies to district-level People's Councils (lacking two deputies, but with no additional voting planned), elected 15,759/16,031 deputies to commune-level People's Councils, (lacking 272 deputies, 1.8%, with no polling station having to vote 5/29/2016 again); while 81 election units electing deputies to the communal-level People's Councils will elect an additional 123 deputies (1.8%). 

The deputy elected to the Municipal People’s Council with the highest rate is Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, with 95.18%. 

Head of the Hanoi Election Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc stressed that Hanoi has the largest number of election units, elected deputies to People’s Councils at all levels and voters nationwide, but the city prepared carefully, the election took place successfully, lawfully, equally, safely and really is a festival of all people. 

Until now, the Election Committee has not received complaints about counting the votes. 

According to the regulation, the result of election of deputies to the NA is announced by the National Election Council; the result of election of deputies to municipal People’s Council is announced by the municipal Election Committee; and the results of election of deputies to People’s Councils at all levels is announced by election committees at all levels./.
