Cultural exchange of ethnic groups in Vietnam-Laos border area in May

The cultural exchange, sports and tourism festival of ethnic minority groups living in the Vietnam - Laos border area in the Central region and Central Highlands will take place in A Luoi district, Thua Thien - Hue province, from May 17th to 19th.

The event will be co-organized by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Thua Thien - Hue province with the participation of 6 Vietnamese and 4 Laotian provinces.
It aims to conserve, promote and honour the cultural heritage values of Vietnam in general and ethnic minority groups living in the Vietnam - Lao shared border area in particular; facilitate people to learn, exchange, broaden knowledge, promote the fine tradition and community engagement of Vietnamese ethnic groups, as well as regional ethnic minority groups; and arouse the pride and fine tradition of each ethnic group.
A series of cultural activities such as festivals, traditional sport events, photo exhibitions on culture, tourism, people and socio-economic achievements; space on culture and tourism products and gastronomy; brocade and costume performance and art performances will be held./.
