The event aimed to connect Vitenamese youths and offer a platform for them to share their opinions about issues that youngsters are interested today.

UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Kamal Malhotra said the forum was also one of the major activities to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the United Nations (1945-2020).

He went on to say that over the past 75 years, the UN has endevoured to address global challenges, from conflict crises to poverty reduction, climate change, and gender equality.

Affirming the goal of targeting all people, Malhotra said in January 2020, the UN put forth the initiative of organising a global dialogue namely the "UN75 Youth Forum". The programme aims to approach as many people as possible, especially youngsters, he added.

Emphasising the impact of COVID-19 on the globe over the past time, the coordinator praised Vietnam as an outstanding model as the country has effectively responded to and supported other countries in fighting the pandemic.

At the forum, Vietnamese youths contributed initiatives and solutions in four key issues, namely climate change and environment, social equality, power of music, and future creation.

These topics had been selected through previous online surveys, attracting more than 800 young people aged 16-26 across 59 provinces and cities nationwide./.
