Vietnamese, Japanese Communist Parties carry out theoretical discussion

The 6th theoretical discussion between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) took place on September 27th with the theme illustrating the development of the regional and the world situation, as well as the prospect of the two Parties and peoples.


Participating in the event, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat (PCC), and Chairman of the PCC Theoretical Council, warmly welcomed the JCP delegation led by Ogata Yasua, JCP Vice Chairman and Director of JCP International Department, to attend the event, stressing that the discussion held great significance in terms of theory and reality for the two Parties, contributing to enriching the theoretical storage on the building of socialism of each Party.

He confirmed that the CPV was always consistent in maintaining national independence, socialism, the independent, self-reliance, peaceful, cooperative and development external policies; making active contributions to progress for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.

Regarding the East Sea issue, he confirmed Vietnam’s consistent viewpoint in addressing disputes with peaceful measures in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; not using or threatening to use violence, fully realising the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), and promptly reaching the Code of Conduct (COC); respecting the diplomatic and legal process; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development, and contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and in the world.

During the discussion, JCP Vice Chairman Ogata Yasua noted clearly his Party’s viewpoint in heightening peaceful international order on the basis of the UN Charter; stressing an important lesson drawn from world history in the 20th century during struggle against hegemonism, invasion, intervention, oppression and wars; striving for a peaceful world without nuclear weapons.

He stressed the importance of addressing disputes in the East Sea by peaceful measures in line with international laws; not using or threatening to use violence, fully realising the DOC, and promptly reaching the COC; confirming that ASEAN solidarity and role were a crucial factor for building a regional structure and a peaceful environment.

On September 28th, Vietnamese and Japanese delegates continued to discuss the situation of each Party, each country and international and regional issues of common concern./.
