On May 19th, thousands of voters in Cu Lao Cham island in Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, actively took part in the election of 14th NA and People’s Council deputies at all levels (tenure 2016-2021).

Due to the geographical conditions, Tan Hiep island commune is among localities nationwide organizing the election three days earlier than the regulation. From the early morning, large numbers of people gathered at five polling stations to wait for ballots to perform their citizenship right in the great festival of the country.

Among 2,042 voters casting votes, most of them are local residents while 344 voters are non-residents from centrally-governed agencies in the island commune, including 75 voters of Brigade 27 (Military Zone 5) and 48 of Naval Squadron working at the Cu Lao Cham island.

On the same day, Quang Nam province saw early voting held at 49 polling stations in island communes and border areas in Tay Giang, Nam Giang and Thang Binh districts.
