Mr. Ngoc has been living in Odessa for 22 years. Due to difficult circumstances, he has never visited his family in Vietnam.

Because his mother was seriously ill, he was given priority to return to Vietnam on the “rescue" flight VN9062.

After the plane landed at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh province on the morning of March 30th, according to regulations, he had to be quarantined for 14 days at the Regiment 244, Military Command of Quang Ninh province. Unfortunately, during this time, his mother passed away.

Unable to return home due to being quarantined, in order to alleviate Ngoc's pain, the Steering Committee of Regiment 244 and the delegation from Odessa set up an altar for Ngoc’s mother right in his quarantine site.

The soldiers and leaders of the regiment shared, visited and encouraged him to overcome the sadness.

These acts moved the Vietnamese community in Odessa.

Therefore, the executive board of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Odessa sent a letter of thanks to all leaders and soldiers of Regiment 244, especially the High Command of the regiment./.
