12 Vietnamese people in Russia’s St. Petersburg positive with COVID-19

11 Vietnamese students and 1 Vietnamese child were infected with COVID-19 in St. Petersburg city, Russia, as of May 22nd.

The information was released by the Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of the Vietnamese community in St. Petersburg city. However, six students have recovered.

On May 21st, two additional Vietnamese students from Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPSUACE) had to move to quarantine area.

They are all in sustainable health condition.

Amid the complicated development of COVID-19, Vietnamese students in some universities in Russia have established boards for fighting COVID-19 in order to further boost anti-pandemic activities and minimize its impacts.

According to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of the Russian Federation, as of May 22nd the country recorded an additional 8,894 new infections in 84 states, raising the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 326,448 cases. 42.2% of new infections have no clinical symptoms.

Moscow still has the largest number of new infections, with 2,988 cases./.
