8th Congress of Overseas Vietnamese Association in UK

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in the United Kingdom (UK) organized its 8th congress successfully and elected a new executive board in London on April 8th.

Speaking at the congress, Vietnamese Ambassador to UK Tran Ngoc An called upon the overseas Vietnamese community in the UK to join hands to build the association strongly to help each other build a happy life, reap many successes, and help the young Vietnamese generation in the UK always unite through cultural exchanges and Vietnamese classes.

The delegates listened to a report about the operation of the association over the past five-year period and its operational orientation for the coming period, such as supporting and consulting issues relating to law, health and housing for overseas Vietnamese, as well as strengthening cultural and sports exchanges between the community and the domestic people.

The Congress elected a new executive board with 25 members of many ages and doing different jobs in order to promote the strength of the community in the coming period.

The new executive board also elected Vuong Manh Hung as the Chairman, and four Deputy Chairpersons of Mr. Huynh Thanh Phong, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh and Ms. Nguyen Quynh Anh./.
