The passengers on the special flight were children under 18, the elderly, sick people, stranded travelers and students who were ill or had no accommodation due to the closure of their dormitories.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa sent officials to visit some severely ill children before their departure and dispatched officials to Toronto to support citizens at the airport.

The national flag carrier had strictly implemented security, safety and epidemiological measures during the flight to ensure the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.

After the plane landed at the Noi Bai International Airport on June 16th, all passengers and crew members underwent medical check-ups and were transferred to concentrated quarantine facilities according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control./.
