In the hands of talented Algerian director Samir Lezzoum, "Vietnam, the Jewel of Asia" vividly recreates the victory of Dien Bien Phu with impressive and moving scenes of the brave sacrifice of Vietnamese soldiers and people in the resistance war against the French colonialists.

The film also introduces achievements in Vietnam’s socio-economic development and international integration.

Shot in many provinces and cities of Vietnam including Hanoi, Dien Bien, Son La, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and some other localities in the Center and the South, especially Ho Chi Minh City, the big cultural and economic center of the country, the film is the result of a cooperation between Lotus Films and many Vietnamese partners, especially the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Pham Quoc Tru highly appreciated the determination and efforts of Algerian filmmakers, persevering for years to implement the cherished project, overcoming all difficulties, especially finance, to make this film.

The ambassador also thanked Algeria’s relevant agencies for their cooperation and support during the process of making the film. The ambassador said that this is a vivid expression of the good traditional friendship and close cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria also organized an exhibition to introduce the photos "Discover Vietnam" including more than 50 photos to introduce to international friends and Algerian people the beauty of the land and people, cultural traditions, cuisine, festivals, trade villages, and world heritage sites of Vietnam. The photo exhibition has attracted a lot of visitors./.
