The portrait, with dimension of 1m x 0.8m, is made of small pieces of paper cut from colourful magazines, then assembled and glued on paper to create a true work of art.

The painting shows a vivid image of President Ho Chi Minh with a high forehead, bright eyes, pensive face in faded khaki shirt. Artist Mustapha Boutadjine has captured the mien and subtly expressed the image of the leader of the people of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, artist Mustapha Boutadjine expressed his respect and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the people of Vietnam, as well as a Communist soldier and a hero of the struggle of oppressed peoples around the world.

The painting is in a collection of works of top leaders of the revolutionary movement in the world which he names "The rebels".

He said that, for him, a painting of President Ho Chi Minh was a necessity. As a son of Algeria, the country has stood with Vietnam in the trenches against French colonialism in the 1950s, and he always felt affection and closeness to the people of Vietnam.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son expressed his pleasure when receiving the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh.

According to the Ambassador, this was a significant event, expressing the sentiment of Algerian people as well as French people for the beloved father of the people of Vietnam.

He also said that in his term of office, this was the second time he had witnessed the sentiment of international people and friends for President Ho Chi Minh.

In February, the family of French Professor of Physics Pierre Biquard, a positive activist for the world peace movement, handed over to the Vietnamese Embassy in France a woollen hat that President Ho Chi Minh presented Professor Pierre Biquard when he led France’s movement for peace to visit Vietnam in January 1969.

The Vietnamese Embassy in France then moved the woollen hat and many valuable documentary photos donated by the family to the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

According to the Ambassador, the souvenirs about President Ho Chi Minh as well as the painting now presented to the people of Vietnam show that the image of President Ho Chi Minh, a leader, a strategist but also a very human and simple person of the people of Vietnam, stands bold in the minds of international people and friends./.
