Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau starts his new working term in New Delhi

Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau and his spouse Bui Thi To Lan arrived in New Delhi on October 2nd to start his term as Vietnamese Ambassador to India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Welcoming him at the airport were the head of the diplomatic corps in India, who represents 159 embassies in New Delhi, ambassadors and Chargé d'affaires of ASEAN embassies in New Delhi, representative of the Department of Protocol under India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the officials and staff from the Vietnamese Embassy in India.

The presence of the head of the diplomatic corps and ASEAN ambassadors is a part of the diplomatic corps’ activities in New Delhi, and shows the sentiment and respect of the ambassadors for the Vietnamese Ambassador.

Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau had a friendly and open exchange with the ambassadors at the Protocol Room at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Dominican Ambassador Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, Head of the diplomatic corps, said that the diplomatic corps in New Delhi meet every two months and the next meeting will take place on October 10th.  

Ambassador of Brunei Dato Paduka Sidek bin Ali, President of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC), reported that ANDC will organize its activities one time per month, and exchanged some specific plans with Mr. Pham Sanh Chau. He desired to soon implement the ANDC’s activities with the Vietnamese Ambassador.

Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau expressed his pride to be appointed as the Vietnamese Ambassador to India when relations between the two countries are developing aggressively, and he thanked the diplomats for their solemn and friendly welcome. The ambassador wanted to receive support from India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and colleagues to complete his term well./.
