Art festival of overseas Vietnamese throughout Germany

The program (December 10th) was participated in by more than 100 amateur artists from 12 out of 16 states throughout Germany, with 52 items in main categories of vocal music; folk and traditional music of Vietnam’s Northern, Central and Southern regions; dance; and pantomime. Young artists of the second Vietnamese generation contributed much to the success of the event, which ran from 13h30 to 21h30. Many items were highly appreciated.

To acknowledge the art contribution to the cultural and artistic movement of the community, the organizing board presented campaign medals to three artists: Hoang Thi Du, Ai Thanh and Duc Long.

Ms. Marion Walsmann, Member of the Parliament of Thuringia state and Spokeswoman for European Policy, highly appreciated activities of the union throughout Germany in general and in Thuringia state in particular. She wished the union to continue to maintain and develop activities for integration in the future.

The program created a strong and effective cohesion among the community and contributed to preservation and promotion of Vietnamese culture for young overseas Vietnamese generations, as well as German and international friends.

Professor Nguyen Van Thoai, Head of the Union, shared that the policy of "multicultural society" of Germany is always the basis for immigrant associations to maintain and promote their fine traditional cultures, promoting positively the process of integration, contributing effectively to the common development of German society. Therefore, the Union wants to maintain the cultural, art and sporting activities of overseas Vietnamese in localities and throughout Germany. These are people's diplomacy activities, contributing positively to maintaining and developing the friendly and trusting relationship between the two countries./.
