ASEAN Family Day 2017 held in Czech Republic

ASEAN Family Day 2017 was organized by the ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP) on November 10th in Prague to strengthen solidarity and understanding among ASEAN countries in the Czech Republic.

The event was attended by Ambassadors, officials, staff and families of five ASEAN member countries in the Czech Republic, including Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, and guests of the host country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan, who is also the Head of ACP, highlighted the significance of the ASEAN Family Day in the context of marking the 50th anniversary of the association and 2nd anniversary of the ASEAN Economic Community.

Over the past five decades, ASEAN has played an increasingly important role in creating a peaceful, friendly, secure and stable environment for cooperation, prosperity and mutual development in the region, and international integration.

He said that on the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, the ACP has organized many events and the ASEAN Family Day 2017 was one of such activities to promote friendship and solidarity, cooperation and support among ASEAN member countries, and to promote the image of ASEAN to the Czech public.

The Ambassador added that the event was an opportunity for ASEAN embassies in Prague to meet, exchange and review activities of ASEAN over the past time, and strengthen understanding of each other through sharing games and culinary cultures of the countries.

On this occasion, Czech friends were invited to attend to boost the understanding of Czech for activities of ASEAN member countries there.

At the event, the ambassadors, diplomats and guests enjoyed traditional dishes and jolly games of the five ASEAN member countries in the Czech Republic./.
