At the event, Ambassador Duong Chi Dung, Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, World Trade Organization and other international organizations in Geneva, emphasized the socio-economic development of the country over the past time and acknowledged the contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts working in many places in the world, including Switzerland.
He committed to always accompany the intellectuals and to be a bridge to connect them with domestic related agencies to help them well implement the projects and plans of the association.
The Ambassador wished the association would develop strongly in the coming time through broad participation of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts of all generations in Switzerland, as well as the development of ideas and projects for the prosperity of the country.
AVIES gathers about 70 Vietnamese intellectuals and experts working in Switzerland in many fields, such as business management, finance, mobile technology, computer science, healthcare and infrastructure construction, as well as international organizations such as WTO, WHO.
AVIES aims to promote and support the implementation of ideas, projects and programs in fields of science, technology, technique, healthcare and society of its members with domestic agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals, contributing to Vietnam’s development, relations with Switzerland and with the UN, WTO and other international organizations which have headquarters in the country.
The establishment of AVIES was organized in the framework of the 3rd seminar for Vietnamese intellectuals in Switzerland./.
