Ms. Tran To Nga is an overseas Vietnamese in France and an Agent Orange-AO/Dioxin victim.
This was also an opportunity for Ms. Tran To Nga to talk about the war and the use of AO/Dioxin carried out by the US in Vietnam, causing a catastrophe that has left millions of Vietnamese people suffering physical and mental pain, and numerous chronic conditions many years after the war.
The book "Ma terre empoisonnée" was published by Stock French publisher in March 2016 and was well received by the public and the media.
The over 300-page book covers the 70-year life of Tran To Nga, who lived and worked in areas most heavily sprayed with AA in South Vietnam during the period of 1966-1970. Therefore, she is also a victim of AO.
Her stories, telling of the pain of loss of close relatives, and projects she has deployed for AO victims/dioxin victims in the years after the war, reached the hearts of many French friends.
After the talk, all the participants showed solidarity by buying the book to support her. According to them, although hers is a personal lawsuit, it is also a symbolic lawsuit bringing a great spiritual strength in the journey to find justice for millions of AO/dioxin victims in Vietnam.
Ms. Françoise Labat, Deputy Mayor of Valenton, said that for a long time she had heard about the harmful effect of AO and she had hoped the catastrophe would not take place in Vietnam.
According to her, the introduction of the book has a special significance. The appearance of the author of the book and touching stories has made the participants want to share the pain of victims by practical actions such as donations.
She said that in the coming time, Valenton city would continue to jointly organize talks on the above theme to raise awareness among the local people, as well as gather forces in the struggle for justice./.
