Buddha's birthday marked by Vietnamese community in Angola

The Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Angola solemnly celebrated the 2561st Buddhist Vesak Day in Luanda, Angola, on May 21st.

In his speech, Venerable Thich Dong Hue, Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Angola, clarified the philosophy of Buddhism, and the thought of the Buddha about peace, tolerance, equality and harmony with nature.

He called on Buddhists to apply the dogmas of the Buddha to unite, love, share and help each other; integrate with the local community, to be inclined to good and honest work to build the beautiful image of Vietnamese people among Angolan friends and always look towards the homeland.

The attendees performed a ceremony of offering incense, bathing Buddha and praying for peaceful country, secure people and happy family.

The Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Angola is a member of the Vietnamese Association in Angola. The association was established in 2016.

This year is the first year the Vietnamese community in Angola celebrated the Buddha's birthday./.
