Compassion Fund of Vietnamese community in Europe launched

A ceremony was organized on January 12th to launch a compassion fund and present the title of humanitarian ambassador at the Hoang Thanh event centre in Prague, the Czech Republic, in the framework of activities of the Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 pageant.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the organizing board and Chairman of the Vietnam Culture and Art Association in the Czech Republic Pham Gia Hau emphasized that the establishment of the compassion fund of the Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 pageant is a practical activity to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women in Europe, not only in appearance but also in soul.

He said that the philanthropic activities of the Humanitarian Ambassadors in the coming time will focus on difficult circumstances in the Vietnamese community in Europe and in Vietnam.

The Executive Board of the fund includes 25 members, Mr. Pham Gia Hau is the Executive Director and Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Overseas Vietnamese Associations in Europe, is the Honorary Chairman.

“We have set up a plan for the whole year of 2019, and practical activities in Vietnam will be deployed immediately after the Lunar New Year Festival. Specifically, on February 13th, we will hand over compassionate houses in Bac Ninh province and then we will have other charitable activities, especially for children with cancer or disability,” said Mr. Pham Gia Hau.

At the ceremony, the organizing board of the Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 pageant also awarded the title of Humanitarian Ambassador to three women from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.

Deputy Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tran Thanh Huong wished the Humanitarian Ambassadors and the Executive Board of the fund to have practical and effective activities to not only gather and connect the Vietnamese community in Europe, but also ease the difficulties of those with less fortunate circumstances in life./.
