This is the first time the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has played this kind of bridging role, creating a connection attracting the special attention of businesses "thirsty" for employees and Vietnamese students who want to find jobs.

The program drew the participation of nine businesses and over 80 Vietnamese students in Japan.

Especially, most of the businesses have production and business activities in Vietnam, and this is one of the main reasons attracting many Vietnamese students to register to participate.

For over two hours, businesses from Saitama prefecture and Vietnamese students had lively discussions on many issues of mutual concern.

According to Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, Governor of Saitama prefecture, over 99% of enterprises in the prefecture are small- and medium-sized enterprises, and many of them are going to develop in Southeast Asian markets, including Vietnam.

Currently, Vietnam is the first country that local enterprises consider when they plan to invest abroad. However, one problem many companies face is finding adequate local human resources. Therefore, Governor Ueda said, the connection program is a significant event for both businesses and students.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed appreciation for the attention that Saitama prefecture and the Governor have reserved for Vietnam.

The Ambassador said that in recent years, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Japan has increased dramatically.

Vietnam has the largest number of students studying in Japan, now nearly 50,000, among Southeast Asian countries. The Ambassador hopes that in the coming time a database of Vietnamese students in Japan will be built to serve management and assist them to find jobs in Japan.

Deputy Chairman of the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA) Le Thai Anh hoped that the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan will continue to act as a bridge to connect Vietnamese students and Japanese businesses, thereby contributing to boosting economic exchange between the two countries.

Saitama is a prefecture in the north of the capital Tokyo. In October 2015, Saitama prefecture Governor Ueda visited and worked in Vietnam in order to promote the investment of businesses from Saitama in Vietnam.

In June 2016, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong visited and worked in Saitama prefecture and chaired an economic policy dialogue with the local businesses.

The job connection program this time is part of the cooperation program between Saitama prefecture and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan./.
