This activity aims to provide an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese in the city to exchange and promote Vietnam’s cultural beauty to local people in particular and Korean people in general.

The festival is one of the events to mark the 72nd anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and RoK.

During the event, many activities were organized such as a special art program, cultural experiences through folk games and traditional cuisine, and traditional costume performances of the two countries.

Mr. Tran Anh Vu, Minister Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK, highly appreciated the significance of the festival in Daejeon city, which hosts many Vietnamese students and workers.

He thanked the administration, agencies, organizations and partners in Daejeon city for supporting the Vietnamese community over the past time.

The Minister Counsellor affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK is ready to be a bridge between Daejeon city and Vietnamese agencies, localities and organizations, thereby contributing to further promoting the Vietnam-RoK strategic partnership cooperation.

Although the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Daejeon city was only recently established, it has cooperated with related organizations to open Vietnamese classes for children from multicultural families, raise a fund to support less fortunate Vietnamese people working and studying in RoK, and organize traditional Tet holidays for the overseas Vietnamese community in the region./.
