Czech friends actively promoting Vietnamese culture honoured

On behalf of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ambassador Truong Manh Son presented the campaign medal to Mr. Jan Zahradil, a member of parliament (MP) of the European Parliament (EP) of the Czech Republic, President of the club of friendly MPs with Vietnam at the EP; and Mr. Petr Hnizdo, Head of the Department for International Cooperation of Czech’s Ministry of Culture, for their great contributions to activities during the Vietnam Cultural Year in the Czech Republic, organized in 2015-2016.

The awarding of the campaign medal is in the series of activities by the Vietnamese Embassy on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic (February 1950 - February 2017).

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Truong Manh Son highlighted the strong and profound development and the comprehensive relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in recent years, especially in cultural exchange.

The event showed Vietnam’s recognition for contributions from Czech politicians and citizens to the development of relations between the two countries and the successful deployment of Vietnam Cultural Year in the Czech Republic as well.

Mr. Jan Zahradil and Mr. Petr Hnizdo expressed their appreciation for the recognition from the Government of Vietnam, and vowed to continue to contribute to the development of friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam./.
