Czech Parliamentarian wants to foster relations with Vietnam

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan received Chairman of the Czech - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group Leo Luzar on May 16th to exchange measures to promote relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy and trade.

At the meeting, Ambassador Tuan affirmed that the relations between the two countries in general and between the two national assemblies in particular have developed well, especially after visits by leaders of the two countries in 2017.

He thanked the Czech - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group for their effective contribution in maintaining and fostering the bilateral relations, such as participating in building legal documents to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and supporting programs for overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic.

The Ambassador hoped that with their position and prestige in Czech’s Lower House and the sentiment for Vietnam, the group will continue to have practical activities and measures to further develop the cooperative relations between the two sides. Through the Czech - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group, Mr. Ho Minh Tuan proposed that the Czech Parliament soon approve the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement so that the agreement will be signed in the second half of 2018.

For his part, Chairman of the Czech - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group stressed the guideline of the Czech leaders to strengthen relations between the two countries. As the Chairman of the group and a member of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, Mr. Leo Luzar affirmed that he would do his utmost to foster friendship and boost understanding between the two nations.

At the same time, he will use his influence to mobilize the Lower House, Ministries and sectors of the Czech Republic to remove barriers in the relations between the two countries in order to promote the bilateral cooperation in fields of economy, trade, investment, tourism and labour. He also supports the Lower House of the Czech Parliament soon approving the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, for the benefit of all sides./.
