Dak Lak province meets overseas Vietnamese returning to welcome Tet

Dak Lak province held a meeting with more than 80 expatriates living in 29 countries and territories returning to the homeland to welcome the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) of the Pig 2019 on January 29th.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Nguyen, an overseas Vietnamese from Canada, shared that his family has lived in Canada for 17 years. This is the third time he has returned to Vietnam to welcome Tet. The greatest happiness of the expatriates like him is great changes of the homeland and to feel the warmth of Tet atmosphere in the native land.  

At the meeting, Vo Van Canh, Deputy Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee, sent best wishes to the overseas Vietnamese and affirmed that the province always encourages and creates favourable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to visit their families, the homeland and invest in business, contributing to building the nation.   

At the same time, he also desired the overseas Vietnamese to continue to work hard and uphold the tradition of solidarity and abide by local laws where they live, make efforts to promote and introduce images and potential of the country to attract more investment into Vietnam in general and Dak Lak province in particular.

In addition, the leader of the province hoped that the 4,000-member overseas Vietnamese will continue to make positive contributions to the cause of construction and protection of the nation, as well as act as a bridge to boost friendship between Vietnam and other countries in the world./.
