Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Vu Hong Nam had a meeting with overseas Vietnamese lawyer Truong Kim Anh, former member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee term VII, with her husband on May 24th.

At the meeting, Ms. Truong Kim Anh informed the Deputy Minister of her activities in community work in Texas in particular and the US in general over the past time.
She hoped to receive the attention of the leaders of the Party and Government of Vietnam in connecting to develop agriculture, forestry and fishery between Texas and Vietnam’s localities. She said that Texas has advantages in fishery and animal husbandry. Connecting it to Vietnam’s localities will offer good conditions to promote the development of Vietnam’s agriculture. In particular, Da Nang has many advantages for investment and deployment.
At the same time, she wanted the Government of Vietnam should pay more attention to the young Vietnamese generation in the US by generating its talent and intelligence.
For his part, Deputy Minister Vu Hong Nam acknowledged and appreciated lawyer Truong Kim Anh, who has conducted various activities to help the overseas Vietnamese community in Texas, especially on learning about, obeying the law and integrating into the local society, as well as social and charity activities to help poor children in the homeland.
Ms. Kim Anh has a reputation and voice in the overseas Vietnamese community, with a lot of experience and dedication in building and consolidating solidarity among members. Deputy Minister Vu Hong Nam hoped that Ms. Kim Anh would have more meaningful and practical activities in mobilizing the community toward the homeland. With the good relationship with the local administration and Vietnam’s representative agency, she would be a bridge to unite, develop the community and promote multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the US.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister congratulated her for being presented the certificate of merit for her contribution to the development of Vietnam-US relations and mobilization of the community towards the homeland by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
