Final night of Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 held in Czech Republic

The beauty pageant aimed to honour the grace and beauty of the traditional long dress (Ao Dai) of Vietnam and promote the Vietnamese culture to local people. In addition, it also encouraged the young Vietnamese generation in foreign countries to know and love Ao Dai and look toward the homeland.

The event attracted the participation of 90 Vietnamese women from European countries. At the final night, the first prizes of the beauty pageant were presented to Dang Thi Bich Lan from Germany in the age group of over 51, and Tran Hoang Mai Anh from Poland in the age group of 35-50. Along with the first prizes, the organising board also announced three second and four third prizes, and several extra prizes.

Mr. Lucas Kaucky, former Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic and Head of the Prague Council for Ethnic Minorities, said he was impressed by the event and added that the event was an outstanding example to deepen the relations between Czech people and Vietnamese people through the promotion of Vietnamese culture.

The second beauty pageant will be organized in Dresden (Germany) in 2020./.
