Speaking at the event, Mr. Pham Minh Thuan, FAHASA CEO and General Director, said that the exhibition displays 5,000 copies of more than 2,000 book titles of different topics.

He emphasized that FAHASA hoped that the book stall will help Vietnamese and multi-cultural families in the RoK access Vietnamese books, as well as maintain and develop the Vietnamese language.

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tu said that, 27 years after establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam-RoK relations have developed dramatically. There are more than 180,000 Vietnamese in the RoK, while nearly 200,000 Koreans are living in Vietnam, he said.

Last year, more than 4 million Vietnamese and Korean tourists travelled between the two countries, he said, attributing the development of the bilateral relationship to mutual cultural and social understanding and similarities shared by the two countries.

The ambassador hoped that the book stall would attract both Vietnamese and Koreans from all classes and said that the book stall and the cooperation between FAHASA and Kyobo would contribute to the mutual understanding and collaboration between the governments and people of the two countries.

The exhibition, held in Kyobo Gwanghwamun bookstore, will last until November 30th.

In May 2019, FAHASA and Kyobo jointly held a Korean book week and inaugurated the first Korean book stall in HCM city.
