The event was attended by a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, led by its Vice President and Secretary General, Hau A Lenh.

Dai Bi pagoda, built in three years, is the first Vietnamese pagoda recognized by the Government of Hungary. This will be a place for spiritual activities of the overseas Vietnamese community there.

The pagoda, with Vietnamese architectural and cultural features, is built from the Vietnam - Hungary Fund.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr A Lenh thanked the government of Hungary and Simontornya administration for smoothing legal procedures for the construction of the pagoda.

He believed that the pagoda would help connect Vietnamese nationals in Hungary and Europe, contributing to the preservation of traditional cultural values.

On the occasion, he conveyed the greeting of President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man to more than 5,000 Vietnamese people in Hungary, urging them to abide by regulations in the host nation and look toward the homeland.

Meanwhile, Mayor of the Simontornya city Csoszne Kazc Edit warmly welcomed Mr A Lenh to visit the city, and attended the inauguration ceremony of Dai Bi Pagoda.

She also highly appreciated the contributions of Ms. Pham Bich Thien, Head of the Vietnam - Hungary Fund, to the construction of Dai Bi pagoda as well as practical and effective contributions to the development of Simontornya city.

The mayor affirmed that she would continue to create favourable conditions for the overseas Vietnamese community to conduct their spiritual and cultural activities and preserve Eastern cultural traditions in Europe./.
