Football tournament held for Vietnamese youth in Macau

A football tournament for Vietnamese youth was organized by the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in the Macau Special Administrative Region, China, on July 22nd.

The activity welcomed the 71st anniversary of the War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27th) and the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19th) and National Day (September 2nd), seeing seven teams from  representing fellow-countrymen associations of Vietnamese people in Macau.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in Macau also raised funds for charitable activities in order to help war invalids’ and fallen soldiers’ families, families with revolutionary meritorious service, as well as families with special difficult circumstances in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Tran Thi Gon, Head of the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in Macau, said that the tournament not only contributed to promoting the sports movement for young Vietnamese people in Macau, but it also strengthened solidarity and support among fellow-countrymen associations in the Vietnamese community in Macau.

In the final, Hai Phong team won the first prize, following by North - South and Hai Duong teams.

Currently, there are more than 20,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Macau./.
