The information was reported by Ms. Pham Hien Luong, Head of the Hai Duong fellow-countrymen association in Macau, at the meeting to review the operation of the association taking place in Macau Island, Macau Special Administrative Region, China, on December 20th.

Of the sum of VND200 million, nearly VND80 million was used to support families of war-invalids and martyrs in difficult circumstances in Hai Duong province. The association also presented 150 gifts, worth nearly VND60 million, to poor families in Vietnam in support of the movement “Month for the Poor” launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee. The remaining funds of the association supported flood victims in Ha Giang and Yen Bai to overcome consequences of natural disasters.

At the meeting, Ms. Luong said that since its establishment, the members of the association have always enthusiastically supported and participated in charitable activities launched by the association.

These activities not only show the spirit of solidarity and kindness of Vietnamese people living far away from their homeland, but also show the benevolent tradition and mutual affection of each Vietnamese person.

Being established in December 2016 and with nearly 200 members, the Hai Duong fellow-countrymen association has become a place for members to exchange and support each other in life./.
