It is powered by the success of the forum on connecting Vietnamese innovative startups in the US and Vietnam, held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee in San Francisco, on December 8th -11th last year.

Eight famous experts from Vietnam, the US, Canada and Israel participated in the event in three main topics: "The first stage of a start-up", "Developing a startup businesses” and “Bringing Vietnamese startups to the world”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Hong Nam said that this was the biggest event so far in Vietnam to grasp the trend of startup.

While Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said he expected that through the forum, experts will help the city tackle problems that hinder its development, one of which is the lack of connectivity between science and businesses.

To address the problem, he emphasized that the city must boost the development of the local science and technology market so businesses have better access to scientific and technological products, and that technology and business must go together when a new enterprise is just established.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh city also reviewed its startup situation, support policies and introduced investment opportunities in startup./.
