Israeli President admires Vietnam's great achievements

Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Cao Tran Quoc Hai on January 3rd came to say goodbye to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at the Presidential Palace before ending his term of office in the country.

At the receiving ceremony, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin expressed his admiration for the great achievements the leaders and people of Vietnam have gained in the cause of innovation, development and protection of the nation. 

The president recalled the profound memories and good feelings that the leaders and people of Vietnam gave to him during his official friendship visit to Vietnam in March 2017. At the same time, he sent his thanks and good wishes to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and other Vietnamese leaders.

Mr. Reuven Rivlin expressed his pleasure at the good and effective development steps of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Israel, as well as highly appreciating the positive contributions of Ambassador Quoc Hai in promoting cooperation between the two countries. The President affirmed that Israel attaches great importance to developing relations with Vietnam and deeply believed that cooperation between the two countries will be increasingly consolidated, developed and expanded for the benefit of the two peoples.

The Ambassador expressed his honour to complete his mission as the Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel; and thanked the President and the relative ministries and agencies of Israel for their support during his term of office.

He reviewed some outstanding achievements in the relationship between the two countries over the past time, especially on the fields of economy, trade, investment, science - technology, education and tourism. At the same time, he affirmed that the two countries still have a lot of potential for further developing good friendship and effective cooperation in many fields.

On this occasion, Mr Quoc Hai expressed his gratitude to Israel for supporting Vietnam to be a candidate for member of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the term of 2019-2025. He also expressed his wish to soon complete negotiations and sign a Free Trade Agreement, soon open direct flights between the two countries to further promote bilateral economic cooperation activities, enhancing and encouraging tourism cooperation in the coming time.

The Ambassador also conveyed good wishes from Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to President Reuven Rivlin and people of Israel, expressing his desire to welcome President Reuven Rivlin back to visit Vietnam in the future./.
