According to the local administration, in the morning of March 18th, Le Anh Hao, father of Nhat Linh, offered flowers and prayed for his daughter. He said that the past year has been too long while the offender has not been tried. Nhat Linh’s soul will not be able to rest while the offender has not been punished.

Ms. Sato, a local person, said that she wants to say sorry to the family, as a Japanese citizen.

This event will make Japan more cautious for their children to go to school. Accordingly, the locality has increased volunteer protection and security monitoring activities during students’ journey. Students are also aware that they must bring with them security alerts, avoid contact with strangers and not go to school alone.

On March 5th, the Chiba District Court decided to hold the trial of Yasumasa Shibuya, who is charged with the murder of Nhat Linh on June 4th. Shibuya was the former head of the Parent’s Association of the school where Nhat Linh studied./.
