Nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from France, Morocco and Chile on a flight of Vietnam Airlines on September 8 and 9.

The flight was arranged by Vietnamese agencies, embassies in France, Morocco and Chile, Vietnam Airlines, and related agencies of the three host nations.

The passengers included children under 18 years old, the elderly, students facing accommodation difficulties, stranded tourists, and workers with expired visas and labour contracts.

Vietnamese missions have assisted the citizens in completing procedures to travel to gather in Paris. Throughout the flight, security, safety and hygiene measures were carried out to protect their health and prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The passengers and crewmembers received health check-up right after landing at the Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City. Then they were sent to concentrated quarantine sites in line with regulations.

In the coming time, more flights will be arranged to repatriate Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and quarantine capacity at home./.
