Overseas Vietnamese and people in Cambodia granted examinations and medicines free of charge

The Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese examined, granted medicines free of charge and presented gifts to over 500 overseas Vietnamese and Cambodian people in difficult situations in Phnom Penh on April 21st.

Mr. Vo Thanh Chat, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said that the working visit aimed to show the emotions of the Party Committee, administration and people in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general, and expects overseas Vietnamese and Cambodian people to soon overcome difficulties, and have a stable, comfortable and happy life.

Through charitable activities, the delegation also wished to contribute to cultivating and promoting the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Mr. Chau Van Chi, Head of the General Association of Vietnamese Cambodians (GAVC), thanked and appreciated the attention and regular support, of the authorities at all levels and people in Ho Chi Minh City, for overseas Vietnamese in difficult circumstances in Cambodia.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also provided some scholarships for overseas Vietnamese children to study in Vietnam. This has contributed to training human resources, facilitating the development and building of the Vietnamese Cambodian community.

Free examination and medicine granting is a regular activity held every two years by the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia and GAVC./.
