Overseas Vietnamese ​Association in Czech presented second-class Labor Order

A ceremony was held in Prague on October 22nd by the Overseas Vietnamese Association to mark its 20th anniversary, received a second-class Order of Labour and organized its 6th congress.

Over the past two decades, the Overseas Vietnamese Association has maintained and promoted long-standing relations between Vietnamese and Czech people. It has organized many activities to strengthen friendship between the two peoples and support the homeland.

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic is operated by an executive committee of 101 members and includes ten provincial chapters.

After 20 years of establishment, the association has supported the Vietnamese community to gradually overcome the language barrier, familiarize and adapt to the lifestyle, integrate into the Czech culture, and abide by the local laws on residence and business. It always plays a central role, a positive factor for the stability and development of the Vietnamese community in the country.

At the congress, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the ssociation for the term of 2016-2019, affirmed that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is always solidarity, overcome difficulties and stabilized life for development and integrate into the local society. Since being recognized as the 14th ethnic group of the Czech Republic in 2013, Vietnamese people have always been considered as an exemplary ethnic group in integration, making practical contributions to economic, cultural and social development of the host country.

The congress elected a new executive committee including 98 new members and Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien was re-elected as the chairman for the term of 2019 – 2024.

At the event, on behalf of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's Secretariat, presented the second-class Order of Labour to the association and Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe in recognition of their efforts to unite and support Vietnamese people living overseas./.
