Chau Van Chi, Chairman of GAVC, said that the funding aims to support, share and encourage spirit of soldiers and fishery families operating on the sea, contributing to the cause of building and protecting the homeland’s sea and islands.

Although the majority of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia still meet difficulties, especially those living on Tonlé Sap and in remote areas of Cambodia, they actively participate in movements towards the homeland such as donation to support the soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago; and support flood victims in Central region and Agent Orange victims.

Apart from nearly USD1,800 collected at the ceremony, the organizing board will continue to receive donation of overseas Vietnamese and enterprises to support the beloved sea and islands of the nation./.
