Overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine support local people in difficult circumstance

In over a month since its launch, the Charity Board of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Ukraine's Odessa province on October 20th presented over three tonnes of food and foodstuff to local people in difficult circumstance through the Odessa provincial Red Cross.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Manh, Head of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Odessa province, shared his sympathy with difficulties faced by local people when Ukraine is in crisis. He also affirmed that mutual help is a good tradition of the Vietnamese people.

According to him, the Vietnamese community living in Odessa considers Ukraine as their second homeland and wants to contribute to the effort to support Ukrainian people, especially before sentiment and help that the local government and people are always reserved for the community.

Each year, the executive committee of the association asks the Charity Board to organize at least one charitable activity for the local people.

Mr. Alexsandr Bunkov, Head of the Odessa provincial Red Cross, said that since the crisis happened in Ukraine, this was the 6th time the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Odessa province has presented relief supplies to disadvantaged people.

He promised to deliver the full amount of these goods to the most needy families in the city of Odessa.

The charity program in Odessa is a very meaningful activity, that contributes to raising the image of the Vietnamese community in the eyes of Ukrainian friends as a friendly Vietnamese community, ready to share with the local people./.
