Overseas Vietnamese present Tet gift to soldiers on Truong Sa Island and DK frame house

On behalf of the leaders of the Commission, Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi transferred gifts of overseas Vietnamese collectives and individuals to present to soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district and DK frame house and naval soldiers, including two tons of glutinous rice of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thin, an overseas Vietnamese in Thailand.

On this occasion, he presented 1,000 calendars and VND20 million to the soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district, DK frame house. This is a special project named Truong Sa - DK1 frame house calendar "Journey of the heart". The calendar includes photos taken by members of two overseas Vietnamese delegations visiting Truong Sa Island and DK1 frame house in 2017 and 2018. The money collected from selling 4,000 calendars is used to buy gifts for soldiers on Truong Sa island on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Pig 2019.

Mr. Nghi said that these are small gifts expressing the gratitude, solidarity and sincere words of the overseas Vietnamese for the soldiers who are guarding the sacred sea and islands of the country.

Rear Admiral Dang Minh Hai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam People’s Navy, thanked the overseas Vietnamese for the significant gifts presented to the soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district, DK frame house. He said that the soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district and DK frame house would continue to promote the tradition to firmly protect the sea and islands of the nation./.
