Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau celebrates 1st anniversary

The Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau recently organized a ceremony to mark its 1st anniversary in Macau Special Administrative Region, China.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in Macau Tran Thi Gon reviewed outstanding activities and achievements of the Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau over the past year.

She said that the Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association has an important part in contributing to the development of the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in Macau. It always enhances the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection of Vietnamese people in Macau, as well as labourers from Phu Tho province living and working there.

On behalf of the Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Head of the association, committed to call upon the members of the association to strictly abide by all related regulations and laws of the local country, building a good image of the land and people of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends, and continue to make contributions to the development of the Vietnam Fellow Countrymen Friendship Association in Macau.

She also said that over the past year the association regularly organized and participated in charitable activities toward the homeland, such as raising funds of nearly VND200 million to support people affected by natural calamities and flood, and families in difficult circumstance in Vietnam’s localities.

The Phu Tho Fellow-Countrymen Association was officially established in June 2017 with about 20 members. After a year of operation, the association attracted about 160 members, many of them are domestic workers with income of USD500 - USD800/month./.
