Poor Vietnamese households in Cambodia presented gifts

As many as 100 poor families of Vietnamese origin in Phnom Penh were presented gifts by representatives from Sacombank Cambodia, a subsidiary of the Sai Gon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank on January 8th before the upcoming Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

Each gift package includes cash, rice and basic necessities.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Cambodia Chau Van Chi, informed the association’s support activities over the past year and difficult circumstances of Cambodian families of Vietnamese origin needing to be supported.

At the event, Mr. Le Van Ron, Deputy General Director of Sacombank extended New Year wishes to the Vietnamese people in Cambodia and shared difficulties with them when the Lunar New Year Festival is coming.

This is the 17th year Sacombank has donated money to help needy people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, with nearly USD3 million raised so far./.
